BSE 2021 fully in virtual platorm

Given the situation in the world and Estonia specifically due to COVID-19 and global restrictions on travel and recommendations to limit large gatherings, the Biosystems Engineering 2021 wase moved fully to a virtual platform. This year we had a total of 232 abstracts and we counted with 989 authors and co-authors from 32 countries from all around the world (Latvia, Russia, Brazil, Czech Republic, Estonia, Italy, Ukraine, Hungary, Finland, Portugal, Slovakia, Ireland, Colombia, Morocco, Lithuania, Poland, India, Nigeria, United States, Iran, Canada, Greece , Slovenia, Sweden, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Algeria, Chile, France , Germany, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan).

In the plenary session we had 4 keynote speakers Prof. Evelin Loit, assistant professor in crop production and genetics at the Estonian University of Life Sciences, Prof. Ivi Jõudu Head of Chair of Food Science and Technology at Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of Estonian University of Life Sciences, Dr. Daniel Johansson from Seco Tools AB, Sweden, and Prof. Marcis Jansons, Associate Professor of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and Professor at the Estonian University of Life Sciences.

The conference counted with 68 oral presentations divided in 2 parallel sessions in the topics of bioenergy, renewable energy, ergonomics, food technology, agricultural economics, engineering, precision agriculture, agricultural engineering, and livestock engineering. In the poster session, we had 77 posters, also in the same topics.
